Waste-heat boilers used in the Ausmelt furnace set are designed for:
- cooling of exhaust gases, partial cooling of dust and reduction of actual gas volume;
- utilization of heat energy of gases by steam generating;
- partial capture and dust collection in order to return it to the process cycle of the plant.
The boilers are radiative-convective, water-tube, stationary, single-drum with natural circulation of the steam-water mix, designed to work under negative pressure.
Process gases from the Ausmelt furnace enter the boiler gas duct and the following heating surfaces in sequence:
- the up taking gas duct of the radiative part;
- the down taking gas duct of the radiative part;
- dust chamber of the radiative part;
- the convective part consisting of sections of thermosyphons – movement of gases: down taking, up taking, down taking, up taking.
There are maintenance platforms for operation and maintenance of boiler.
The design of the boilers provides for the possibility of alkaline washing, acid and water washing, preservation and drainage of heating surfaces through the drain nozzles.
The design of the boilers provides for technological effectiveness of installation, repair and replacement of separate components.
To clean the heating surfaces from contamination, the boilers are equipped with magnetic-pulse and gas-pulse cleaning.
